Baker starts railroad
The Walla Walla was the first of several Porter, Bell & Company steam locomotives Dorsey S. Baker bought for his Walla Walla & Columbia River Railroad Co. It was used to help build the narrow-gauge railroad from Wallula to Walla Walla and to haul freight.
